Extremely Loud and Completely Full Of Shit

xIf my youTube channel flips a "digital bird" at the country, and the now dormant first incarnation of the channel's companion blog represents a karmic Internet rebound, then this current instance serves to remediate, ameliorate or otherwise mitigate that failure to communicate.

In spite of the effort, I'm way past the point of giving a fuck.

Since our way of life here is somehow dependent upon murdering brown people all over the planet, we seem as a nation and a culture beyond redemption. Whether we're waging our global drone war as a military industrial trade show, or to secure gasoline priced in our vertiginous money supply, or for "cool points," it's still murder. Sorry.

It ain't the cats choking the trigger that piss me off; it's the hacks in the back sending other people's children off to kill and die. It's the media whores and mealy mouthed shit-brains that make shallow excuses and reprehensible rationalizations for the evil that we commit daily. I'd be supporting Ron Paul's bid for CEO of the U.S.A. if his anti-war rhetoric wasn't rooted in Libertarian isolationism overlaying a nasty Nativist xenophobia. You might think that I'd find some solace in the recent, unprecedented upsurge of social consciousness percolating through the Occupy movement, but you'd be wrong.

Not all of the criticism from the right is meretricious tribal ignorance. There is something a bit off in swarms of young, new-media savvy adults decrying the ravages of a rigged political economy while feverishly twittering on their iPhones. Apple may have gone some distance toward improving the lot of its sub-sub-sub contractor employees at Foxconn, but they still show up hundreds at a time threatening demonstrations of mass lemming performance art over their working conditions. How many lives are mercilessly ground down in 30+ hour shifts to make all those smart phones and tablets? How much we actually care is a function of that industry's success.

Soy Dissidence

Steve Jobs has passed into the pantheon of modern archetypes as one that represents both virtuosity in accomplishment and the staggering conceit required to achieve it in our 21 C. trans-national corporate, consumption driven existence. Your products don't even have to acquire the groovy-oozing hipness of Apple to cover for your executive's backdated options packages, control fraud, or old-school extorting of your customers. We are no longer a country of laws but of greedy self-righteous psychopaths leading a willfully ignorant population to its own destruction.

You want me to protest? Get a job? Pay taxes to feed the beast? Vote? Pass me the crack pipe you're all smoking, and I'll think about it.
